I met Natalie that afternoon and showed her the complete photographs, the messages, and Vanessa’s confession. She looked through everything carefully. Then she began crying, explaining how frightened she had been when she saw those words on the car. She wasn’t only afraid of losing me. She was afraid of bringing a child into a relationship filled with secrets and uncertainty.
I held her hands and promised that I would never hide something important from her again. Marcus also visited and apologized sincerely for what he had done. Natalie eventually forgave him, although she made it clear that his actions had crossed a serious line. For the first time in days, we sat together without anger. Then Natalie placed my hand against her stomach and smiled gently.
