Daniel stared at his silent phone and sighed. He tried calling again, but there was no signal. Just as he considered walking toward the village, a passing delivery driver stopped beside his car. The stranger noticed Daniel’s confused expression and asked whether he needed help.
Daniel explained that he was lost and described the village his wife had mentioned. Fortunately, the driver knew the area and offered to show him the correct highway. Daniel thanked him enthusiastically and climbed back into his car. For the first time that afternoon, he felt hopeful. However, something unexpected awaited him at home.
