When Daniel finally arrived home, he expected his wife to be furious. Instead, she stood near the front door with Whiskers sitting proudly beside her. The moment Daniel stepped inside, the cat approached his shoes, rubbed against his legs, and began purring. Daniel looked uncomfortable.
“Don’t think this changes anything,” he muttered. His wife folded her arms and reminded him that Whiskers had never abandoned anybody. Daniel looked down at the animal, then noticed something strange. A small red ribbon was attached to its collar. His wife smiled and explained that she had added it earlier that afternoon.
