I finally understood how much anxiety had become part of my nighttime routine. Every time I woke up, I expected another sleepless night. That expectation made me tense, frustrated, and increasingly alert. Instead of forcing myself to sleep, I started treating occasional awakenings as ordinary experiences.
When sleep didn’t return quickly, I stopped watching the clock and spent some quiet time reading. I maintained a regular morning schedule and gave myself permission to relax. Gradually, the fear surrounding three o’clock began disappearing. But I still wanted to know whether my changes would last.
