Grandpa explained that he had established a college fund for me years earlier, carefully depositing money into an account intended to secure my education. He had trusted my parents to help manage the arrangements, believing I would receive every dollar when the time came. But when I eventually needed tuition money, Mom claimed the account had never contained enough to begin with. Meanwhile, my sisters received lavish celebrations, expensive gifts, and vacations. I had been told to work harder, take loans, and stop expecting special treatment. Grandpa had never known what was happening.
When I finally investigated, I discovered dozens of withdrawals spread across several years. Each transaction had a destination, and many were connected to expenses that benefited my sisters. I began organizing bank statements, old letters, and account records. The more I discovered, the more I understood why Grandpa’s correspondence had suddenly stopped. Someone had deliberately kept us apart. I showed him the evidence, and he promised that the truth would eventually be heard. Now, at the wedding, he was keeping that promise.
