I called both sets of parents and invited them to our seventh-anniversary dinner. Elon was delighted when I told him I wanted everyone together. He even suggested ordering an expensive cake and buying champagne. My mother noticed how quiet I sounded, but I told her I was simply tired from caring for Sophie. Meanwhile, I arranged a meeting with my attorney and collected the financial documents. I also wrote down everything I remembered from the accidental phone call, including Sierra’s name and Elon’s promise to marry her.
Two days before the anniversary, I received another unexpected discovery. A hotel reservation had been made in Elon’s name for the weekend after our celebration. The booking included two adults, a luxury suite, and a romantic dinner package. I didn’t confront him. I printed the confirmation and placed it inside the envelope with the financial records. When Elon asked why I was spending so much time preparing for dinner, I smiled and told him I wanted our anniversary to be unforgettable. He kissed my cheek and said he couldn’t wait. Neither could I.
