That evening, Elon came home carrying grocery-store daisies and chocolates. He kissed my forehead and asked about Sophie as though nothing had happened. I smiled, accepted the flowers, and pretended everything was normal. But his phone kept lighting up with messages from someone saved under the name “Sierra – Office.” When he stepped into the shower, I noticed a notification that read, “Six more days, sweetheart. Then we’ll finally be together.” I didn’t open his messages or touch his phone. I simply remembered the name and the date. Six days until our anniversary.
The following morning, I contacted a family attorney and explained what I had overheard. She advised me to protect my daughter’s interests, understand our finances, and avoid making emotional decisions without knowing my options. I also discovered that Elon had recently withdrawn a substantial amount from our joint savings account. When I asked about it casually, he claimed the money had gone toward an unexpected business expense. I didn’t argue. Instead, I requested copies of our financial statements and began organizing everything. I was no longer preparing to beg my husband to love me. I was preparing to protect my daughter.
