A Federal Judge Disguised as Catering Staff Overhears Her Son’s Future In-Laws Plotting to Bury Evidence and Steal an Internship, Setting a Trap They Never Saw Coming

Senator Whitcombe arrived within minutes, still wearing her formal gown, moving through the ballroom with the confidence of someone who had spent decades handling powerful people and difficult conversations. She found Renata near the service entrance, her apron still tied around her waist and her expression calm despite everything that had happened. “What do you have?” the senator asked quietly. Renata answered in short, careful sentences, explaining the buried discovery documents, the altered internship records, and the way Preston Cole had used his influence to control opportunities. The partners who had laughed along with him suddenly looked away. Priya was called from the kitchen, still holding her worn LSAT book, and Senator Whitcombe promised the internship decision would be reviewed immediately. As everyone processed the consequences, Preston received a message from his firm’s managing partner that made him realize the evening was far from over.
