“My phone went green green,” the driver began, pausing as though searching for the next part of his sentence. The officer stared at him without saying anything. The driver continued, becoming increasingly pleased with himself. “So I pinked it up and said yellow. Have a nice day, officer!” He finished with a proud smile and looked around as if expecting applause. For several seconds, the roadside was completely silent. The officer blinked, then pressed his lips together, struggling to maintain his professional expression. The driver interpreted the silence as admiration and nodded confidently.
“See?” he announced. “I told you I was perfectly fine. That was a very intelligent sentence.” The officer finally allowed himself a small smile. “Well, sir, you certainly managed to use all three words.” The driver grinned and asked whether that meant he could leave. The officer explained that completing the word challenge didn’t change what had happened during the earlier tests. His driving, appearance, and behavior still required attention. The driver looked disappointed, as though someone had changed the rules halfway through a game. He had expected a clever answer to solve everything.
