By spring, my lawn was beautiful again. Richard paid for the restoration, and his new Mercedes stayed safely in his own driveway. When Emma visited, she joked that the internet had made me famous for building a concrete prison around a luxury car. I laughed because I knew both sides of the story were true.
One afternoon, Richard approached me and complimented the grass. We exchanged friendly words instead of arguments. I realized that protecting something you love doesn’t mean losing control of yourself. My lawn eventually recovered, but the experience taught me something far more valuable: being right doesn’t automatically make revenge right. Sometimes, the greatest victory is knowing when to stop.
