The laboratory report stated that Daniel could not be our son’s biological father. He looked at me as though the document had confirmed every suspicion he had ever entertained. I tried explaining that I had never betrayed him, but he refused to listen. He packed his belongings and left that evening.

I never stopped loving my son, but I hated that he might grow up believing his father had abandoned him because of something I supposedly did.
