Right after walking out of the courthouse, I boarded a plane, wearing the navy dress Daniel once called forgettable. At his wedding reception, a question shattered his confidence: “Do you know your ex-wife owns fourteen companies?” Daniel was laughing beside Vanessa, waving our divorce decree.
