A cheap and simple method to keep these pests away from your home

Cockroaches are among the most dreaded household pests, known for hiding in dark, damp areas like under sinks, basements, and closets. Spotting even one roach in your home can be frustrating, often signaling a larger infestation. Many people seek quick and affordable solutions to eliminate them without resorting to professional services.

One simple and low-cost DIY method uses two common ingredients: boric acid and an egg yolk. This mixture can be an effective roach killer when used carefully and correctly. The boric acid acts as a poison, while the egg yolk attracts the pests, forming an effective bait that can be easily prepared at home.

To make the bait, mix 3 tablespoons of boric acid with one egg yolk until it forms a thick, dough-like consistency. Then, use a spoon to shape the mixture into small balls. These should be placed on wax or parchment paper and left to dry for about an hour. Once hardened, they are ready to use.

Strategically place the bait balls in locations where cockroach activity has been noticed. Ideal spots include under kitchen and bathroom sinks, behind appliances, inside closets, and along the edges of basements. These placements help ensure that roaches encounter the bait and bring it back to their nests, increasing its effectiveness.

While this homemade method can be powerful, it must be used with caution. Boric acid can be harmful if ingested by pets or children, so only place the bait in areas they cannot reach. Monitor the situation and consider repeating the process after a couple of weeks to eliminate any remaining roaches or eggs.

This DIY roach solution offers an easy, affordable, and efficient way to deal with infestations. With careful use and proper placement, it can bring lasting relief from one of the most persistent household pests.
