Trump insisted he’s “not a sleeper,” even after viral footage showed him with his eyes closed and slumped in a chair during a White House event.

A few weeks ago, Donald Trump was pictured seemingly ‘sleeping’ in his chair at the Oval Office. The pictures went viral, and many believed he was passed out or tired. Now, Trump has commented on his sleeping habits.

On November 6, during an Oval Office press conference on cutting prices for a popular weight-loss drug, pictures of Donald Trump went viral. Why? The President of the United States had his eyes closed, possibly nodding off.

It came just moments before a man passed out at the news conference, and Trump’s reaction to it also spread online. That the president appeared to be sleeping or at least nodding off had happened before.

In May, as he attended a special ceremony during a visit to Saudi Arabia, as seen in a video shared by The Daily Beast, Trump seemed to nod off again. That the presidency might be one of the most stressful jobs worldwide is not a debate. Still, being awake surely is a requirement for the most powerful man in the world.

As Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Donald Trump held a press conference at the Oval Office on Tuesday, November 18, Donald Trump was asked about his time management. He had previously stated that the Saudi prince didn’t sleep much.

Trump replied that he also doesn’t sleep much and insisted he’s “not a sleeper,” adding that he and the crown prince “talk at night” at unusual hours. He concluded that when one loves their job and country, “you’re thinking about your country,” and he doesn’t want to sleep.
