“I brought my daughter into the world and took her out of it.”
As I held Deborah’s hand during her final moments, a mix of sadness and relief washed over me—my vibrant daughter, who fought a brave battle with bowel cancer, was finally free from pain.
Despite being a mother of three, losing Deborah has been incredibly difficult. She passed away at 40 after a five-and-a-half-year struggle, leaving behind her 16-year-old and 14-year-old children, Hugo and Eloise.
Deborah was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at 35, and throughout her journey, she made a significant impact through her Bowelbabe blog and her tireless advocacy for cancer awareness.
Her spirit, determination, and passion for life touched thousands, inspiring many as she shared her experience and encouraged others to recognize the signs of the disease.
Her legacy continues to guide us as we honor her memory and navigate our grief, cherishing every moment as she taught us to do.
