My Husband Wanted To Trade Spouses For One Week And I Said Yes Very Calmly 3

Standing on my porch were Helen, Greg’s mother, and a tall woman in a navy blazer. Helen walked into the living room without removing her gray coat. She looked at her son, then at Lydia sitting beside him. “Gregory, tell me this is not what I think it is,” she whispered.

The woman introduced herself as Diane Rivera, my attorney. She opened her leather folder and placed a document on the coffee table. Greg read the first page, and his hands began to shake. It contained the messages proving that he and Lydia had planned their affair long before he suggested exchanging spouses. There were also documents outlining the financial steps I had taken to protect myself.

“You said she agreed to everything,” Marcus told Greg, his voice filled with disgust. Lydia lowered her eyes, unable to answer Helen’s questions. Greg turned toward me, demanding to know why I had set him up. I met his gaze calmly. “I didn’t set you up, Greg. I simply agreed to the arrangement you wanted. You were the one who believed I would never discover the truth.”

I removed my wedding ring and placed it beside the folder. For the first time in years, I felt no need to argue, explain myself, or convince him to love me. I had already made my decision. As Diane gathered the documents, I walked toward the door and left Greg standing in the living room with the consequences of his own choices. He had wanted one week with another woman. What he lost was a wife who would never again mistake his selfishness for love.
