The first time my husband held our newborn son, I expected tears of joy. Instead, he stared at the baby and whispered, “He doesn’t look like me.” I tried to laugh, blaming exhaustion and the shock of becoming parents, but his concern soon turned into suspicion. Days later, while I rocked our son, he demanded a paternity test, saying he believed the baby might not be his.
His accusation shattered me. After carrying our child for nine months, I never imagined I would have to prove my faithfulness. Still, I agreed to the test and filed for divorce that same day. When the results arrived, they appeared to confirm his fears: the report stated he wasn’t the baby’s biological father. He walked away convinced I had betrayed him, leaving me to raise our son alone.
