The evenings I had been assigned to the office matched Desmond’s travel records almost perfectly. I didn’t need to accuse anyone or raise my voice. The timestamps spoke for themselves.
I requested a formal review under our company’s conflict-of-interest policy, which required supervisors to disclose personal relationships with subordinates. Coralie had never disclosed hers. That was the actual violation. By that afternoon, she was placed on administrative leave while the company investigated, and I was temporarily reassigned to another supervisor.
