I told Irvin everything. He was furious and stopped helping Vanessa. But she simply became more obvious, flirting whenever she saw him and eventually inviting him alone to a neighborhood barbecue. She deliberately excluded me. Instead of stopping him from going, I told Irvin to attend. Then I arrived later carrying a large gift box filled with a hammer, screwdrivers, batteries, lightbulbs, a jar opener, and handyman numbers. “Now you don’t need my husband anymore,” I said. The neighbors heard everything, and Irvin stood beside me.

 

 

Vanessa retaliated by reporting my home bakery for operating from an unapproved garage. My permits were valid, but the converted garage itself lacked the proper commercial approval. Orders were canceled, money was lost, and Vanessa demanded that I publicly apologize for humiliating her. At first, Irvin and I argued about whether to fight back. Then we discovered Vanessa had cropped his messages to make him look interested. The full conversations showed he had repeatedly rejected her. Still, the bakery violation was real. We decided to stop hiding from it.
