That evening, my employer confirmed the towing company had apologized after reviewing the circumstances. Since the cars were returned without damage, the company decided no lawsuit was necessary. We never received another note, and she stopped commenting about our parking.

She thought the tow trucks meant she had won. Instead, they read the tags and put our cars right back where they belonged.
