I had spent months trying to understand why my son, Desmond, had slowly erased me from his life. There were always excuses: work, travel, family plans, another promise that I would meet his wife Marisol โnext time.โ Then, while they were away, I finally entered their carefully arranged house and noticed something strange. A bedroom door stood partly open, and inside was a wardrobe that seemed completely ordinary.
