I turned the screen around. My security camera showed Chloe pounding on my door with seven other people crowded behind her. Two children sat on their luggage while Derek’s parents stared impatiently down the hallway. Chloe kept pressing a key against the lock that no longer had a keyhole. When she demanded the new code, I told her she had no right to enter my home after I had explicitly said no. She accused me of humiliating her, but for once I didn’t back down.
