My husband and I went on vacation for 10 days.

The shock came before the smell. After being away for only ten days, my husband and I returned home and discovered something pale, branching, and strangely alive spreading across one corner of our bathroom. We stood there speechless, unsure whether we needed mold control, animal control, or someone else entirely.

 

 

We crouched down for a closer look without touching it. The growth looked almost unreal, like frozen sea coral with soft edges that seemed ready to pulse or breathe. We had no idea how something so bizarre could appear so quickly. Then curiosity took over, and we began searching online for pictures of white branching fungus and unusual bathroom mold. What we discovered made the mystery even stranger.
