70s Rock Legend Fighting for His Life After Cardiac Arrest

Rock and roll icon Dave Edmunds, 81, is currently in intensive care after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his home in Monmouthshire, Wales. Known for his 1970 hit “I Hear You Knocking,” Edmunds has had a celebrated career as both a solo artist and a collaborator with groups like Rockpile and fellow musician Nick Lowe. His sudden health crisis has deeply impacted fans and fellow musicians around the world.

According to a heartfelt Facebook post from his wife, Cici, the incident was nearly fatal. She recounted that Dave “died in her arms” before being revived by emergency responders. Although medics were able to resuscitate him, Cici revealed that the cardiac arrest caused brain damage and memory loss, making his prognosis uncertain. She called his survival a “miracle” and noted that the upcoming weeks will be especially difficult.
