The Corvette Revealed a Secret After Dad’s Death

After Ray died, Barbara thought the hardest part would be learning how to live without him. The last thing she expected was an argument over his beloved Corvette. He had spent fifteen years restoring the car, carefully documenting every repair and keeping the title and ownership records in a locked cabinet. Barbara knew exactly what Ray had wanted: the Corvette was hers. But her daughter Kayla disagreed. She repeatedly insisted that the car should be sold and the money divided. Barbara refused, believing the matter was settled by Ray’s estate documents.

 

 

Then Kayla suddenly claimed she had found a buyer willing to pay $58,000. Barbara immediately became suspicious and asked Priya, the estate attorney, to review the paperwork. Priya compared the bill of sale with Kayla’s known signatures and quickly noticed something wrong. The signature on the document did not match. Then she checked the date. Her expression changed as she looked up at Barbara. The bill of sale had been signed after Ray’s death—and it claimed that both owners had authorized the sale. Barbara had never signed it. Ray obviously could not have signed it. And the money had already been transferred to an account belonging to someone who wasn’t part of the estate…
