How to Remove Dust From Your Fan Without Disassembling It

I didn’t realize how dirty my fan had become until I turned it on one afternoon and watched a cloud of dust scatter across the room. The blades, grille, and motor housing were covered in a layer of buildup that I had somehow stopped noticing. My first instinct was to take the entire thing apart, but I discovered there was a much easier way to clean it.

 

 

I unplugged the fan, moved it onto an old towel, and grabbed my vacuum with a soft brush attachment. Slowly, I cleaned the front and rear grilles, keeping the nozzle close so the dust wouldn’t spread everywhere. For the stubborn areas, I used a soft brush while holding the vacuum nearby. Then I carefully reached the accessible blades with a microfiber cloth, gently loosening years of accumulated dust.

But when I looked behind the grille, I realized there was one area I had completely overlooked.
