Early This Morning I Walked into the Bathroom and Found Something on the Floor That Stopped My Heart

Early one morning, I walked into the bathroom and froze when I saw a strange, twisted object lying on the cold floor. It looked dried, alien, and completely out of place. My heart raced as I tried to understand what I was seeing.

For several minutes, I stood there staring at it without touching it. Every possibility seemed disturbing. I wondered whether it was an organ, a parasite, or something that had somehow been left behind.

The presence of my cat nearby only made the scene feel stranger. The ordinary bathroom suddenly seemed like a place where something mysterious and terrible had happened. I searched online for answers, but every possibility only made me more uneasy.

Eventually, curiosity overcame my fear, and I carefully picked up the object. Instead of feeling heavy or wet, it crumbled slightly in my fingers. It was incredibly light, brittle, and dry, almost like a piece of paper or ash.

Then the truth became clear. What looked like something horrifying was actually a tiny frog that had died and become completely mummified. Its delicate body had dried into such an unusual shape that it was almost impossible to recognize.

The discovery left me unexpectedly saddened. The frog had once been alive, moving through the world somewhere around the house. Yet by the time I found it, almost everything about its life had disappeared except for this tiny, fragile remains.

It made me think about how completely life can vanish. Sometimes there is no dramatic ending, no witness, and no explanation—only a small remnant left behind for someone to discover much later.

I carefully set the tiny frog down, washed my hands, and stood quietly in the bathroom. Everything looked ordinary again, but the strange discovery had changed how I saw the room. What first appeared horrifying had become a quiet reminder of how mysterious and fragile life can be.
