All I did was paint my front door dark green. Apparently, that was enough to start a war with my neighbor, Linda. She treated our neighborhood like she had personally written every rule, even though she wasn’t on the HOA board. When she complained about my door, I calmly showed her the HOA approval. The complaint was dismissed, but Linda didn’t let it go. Two days later, I found deep scratches across the fresh paint. Then my flowerpots were overturned. I couldn’t prove she was responsible, so I adjusted my doorbell camera.
The next morning, someone poured white paint across my porch and the bottom of my green door. I checked the footage and saw a hooded figure at 2:13 a.m., carrying a paint can and hurrying toward Linda’s driveway. I called the police. Officer Ramirez watched the recording, but instead of focusing on the vandal, he suddenly told me to rewind it. Behind the figure, Linda’s garage door stood open, and something beneath a blue tarp was partially visible. Ramirez zoomed in, froze the frame, and his expression changed completely.
