Every morning, countless eggshells are tossed into kitchen trash cans without a second thought. For years, I did exactly the same thing. After breakfast, I would crack the eggs, throw away the shells, and move on with my day. Then one afternoon, while working in my garden, I wondered whether something I considered useless might actually have another purpose. I began researching what could safely be done with eggshells, and I discovered they were surprisingly versatile. They could be added to compost, prepared for garden use, turned into crafts, used for gentle scrubbing, or even transformed into tiny seed-starting containers. The important part, however, was preparation. Eggshells should never simply be scattered around without thinking. They need to be rinsed thoroughly, dried completely, and handled appropriately depending on how they will be reused.

That discovery changed the way I looked at my kitchen waste. Instead of immediately throwing every shell away, I began saving a small container beside the sink. I crushed some for the compost pile and carefully cleaned others for creative projects. Soon, I noticed just how many shells accumulated in an ordinary household. But one particular use surprised me most. It involved taking something as simple as a dried eggshell and turning it into something useful for my garden.
