I came home from a trip and decided to take a shower.

For a brief moment, I was convinced something alive was waiting for me on the bathroom floor. My heart raced as I stared at a small, pale object resting near the shower drain. The room was completely silent, yet the strange shape seemed unsettling enough to make me stop in my tracks. After a long trip, I had looked forward to nothing more than a relaxing shower, but now I couldn’t take my eyes off the mysterious object. It didn’t move, and somehow that made it even more disturbing.

Standing there wrapped in a towel, I imagined every possibility. The tiny dark point sticking out of the pale lump looked almost like a fang or stinger, and my imagination quickly filled in the missing details. I watched from a distance, waiting for the slightest movement that would confirm my fears. Eventually, curiosity became stronger than anxiety, and I decided to take a closer look…
