I was walking along the beach with my dog when we suddenly noticed this near the shore.

The moment I spotted it, every instinct told me something was terribly wrong. It lay half-buried where the grass met the sand, its bloated shape unlike anything I had ever seen before. Torn, rubbery skin stretched over a swollen mass, while a hard shell-like fragment rested nearby as though something violent had happened. I stopped in my tracks, unable to look away, even though every part of me wanted to leave.

My imagination quickly filled in the blanks with terrifying possibilities. Maybe it was some mutated sea creature carried ashore from the deep, or perhaps an unknown animal twisted by disease. The waves rolled in peacefully, making the scene feel even more unsettling. The longer I stared, the less familiar it seemed. Curiosity slowly overcame fear, and I stepped closer, preparing myself to discover what the horrifying remains really were…
