According to <em>New York Magazine\u2019s Intelligencer<\/em>, the move echoes previous federal recruitment efforts under former President Donald Trump, whose administration spent millions on politically charged ads targeting police officers in sanctuary cities such as Chicago, Boston, and Seattle.
