The truth came to me on an ordinary evening, twelve years into my marriage. Daniel had been having an affair for months. When confronted, he blamed me for being tired, busy with the children, and neglecting him. Our three children were asleep upstairs. I couldn’t argue anymore. I quietly packed their clothes, blankets, and favorite stuffed animals. My hands trembled, but I knew I couldn’t stay another night pretending everything was normal.
