The villa had originally belonged to my late husband, Daniel, and me. We had spent years saving for a home near the water, somewhere peaceful where we could eventually retire. Daniel loved the property from the moment he saw it. He used to stand on the terrace every evening, watching the sun disappear behind the hills. But he died before we could enjoy the life we had planned together. After his death, I kept the villa because selling it would have felt like giving away the last place where our dreams still existed. I worked hard, paid every bill, and made sure the property remained in my name.

My father knew how much that house meant to me. When he started having financial problems, I helped him without hesitation. He told me he had debts, creditors calling, and bills he couldn’t manage. Over several years, I transferred nearly $160,000 to help him get back on his feet. I never demanded repayment because I believed I was helping my family. Rochelle often thanked me, and Garrett called me generous. But something changed when they began treating the villa as if it belonged to them. They started inviting friends over, rearranging furniture, and discussing renovations without asking permission. When I objected, my father simply said, “You’re never here, Natalie. Why shouldn’t the family enjoy it?”
