Nora lives with me now. Grayson has supervised visitation on alternating weekends, as ordered by the court after a guardian ad litem spent six weeks speaking with her and listening to her concerns about Sunday nights. I will not repeat what she told them. Some things belong to a child, and protecting her means respecting that privacy.

Three months after the hearing, Vivienne sent me a letter. It contained no apology, only a lengthy explanation of why she had believed what she believed. I read it once and kept it. Fourteen months of having my symptoms dismissed had taught me to preserve records, even when other people preferred their own versions of events.

Paper lasts longer than denial.

My condition is managed now. It had been diagnosable all along. The records from my hospital stay after the courtroom collapse became some of the strongest evidence my attorney could present. That remains one of the hardest parts to accept: I had documented my symptoms for more than a year, yet it took collapsing in front of a judge for people to take those records seriously.

Still, my life is no longer measured by court dates, accusations, or the effort required to prove that I am telling the truth.

Last month, Nora told me she feels safe at home. She said it simply, without hesitation or drama, the way children speak when they believe they no longer need to defend their feelings.

She does not cry on Sunday nights anymore.

I held her close and let those words settle between us. I cannot change what she experienced, and I cannot promise that the road ahead will always be easy. But I can give her a home where her feelings are heard, where the truth does not have to be performed, and where she never has to collapse before someone believes her.

I choose to believe she learned that from me.
