House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries<\/strong> unleashed sharp criticism against President Donald Trump\u2019s Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt<\/strong> on Friday, escalating tensions amid the ongoing government shutdown<\/strong>. Speaking to reporters, Jeffries called Leavitt \u201csick\u201d and \u201cout of control,\u201d before adding, \u201cI\u2019m not sure whether she\u2019s just demented, ignorant, a stone-cold liar, or all of the above.\u201d His comments followed Leavitt\u2019s earlier claim that the Democratic Party \u201cconsists of terrorists, violent criminals, and undocumented immigrants.\u201d Jeffries condemned the statement as \u201cnonsensical,\u201d accusing the Trump administration of spreading disinformation at a critical moment. \u201cThis is what the American people are getting from the Trump administration in the middle of a shutdown,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
