She has proposed freezing the state\u2019s general fund spending at about <strong>$11.6 billion<\/strong>, requiring agencies to cut budgets by <strong>3% to 4% annually<\/strong>, expanding access to <strong>vocational and trade schools<\/strong>, and defunding any office or agency that refuses to comply with state or federal law. Her campaign video showcased her <strong>pro-Trump credentials<\/strong>, featuring a clip of former President <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> praising her as a \u201cfighter.\u201d Once critical of Trump after the <strong>January 6th Capitol riot<\/strong>, Mace has since realigned herself with the former president and is now a vocal supporter of his <strong>\u201cAmerica First\u201d agenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Republican field<\/strong> includes <strong>Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette<\/strong>, <strong>Rep. Ralph Norman<\/strong>, and a <strong>former prosecutor<\/strong> whom Mace has accused of mishandling an abuse case involving her ex-fianc\u00e9. Mace, <strong>47<\/strong>, made history as the <strong>first female graduate of The Citadel<\/strong> in 1999 and began her political career in the <strong>South Carolina House<\/strong> before winning a congressional seat in <strong>2020<\/strong>.
