I sat quietly while Mr. Caldwell showed me the paperwork. Melissa had planned to gut my kitchen without ever speaking to me about it. The contractor had informed her that the project was canceled because the homeowner had withdrawn authorization. On Nathan\u2019s voicemail, confusion quickly turned into anger.
